Amoxicillin & Potassium Clavulanate Tablets l.P
How It Works
Amoxywolk-CV 625 combines Amoxicillin and Clavulanic Acid. Amoxicillin inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins, disrupting bacterial cell wall formation. Clavulanic Acid enhances the activity of Amoxicillin by inhibiting β-lactamase enzymes produced by some bacteria, which would otherwise inactivate Amoxicillin, thus extending its spectrum of activity against resistant bacteria.
Indications

Amoxywolk-CV 625 is indicated for the treatment of the following infections caused by susceptible organisms:

  • Upper respiratory tract infections (sinusitis, otitis media, tonsillitis)
  • Lower respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, pneumonia)
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Skin and soft tissue infections
  • Dental infections

 

Dosage
  • Adults: Typically, one tablet (625 mg) every 8 to 12 hours, depending on the severity of the infection.
  • Children: Dosage based on body weight and determined by a pediatrician.
Side Effects

Common side effects of Amoxywolk-CV 625 may include:

  • Nausea
  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting
  • Abdominal pain
  • Skin rash
Contraindication

Amoxywolk-CV 625 is contraindicated in patients with

  • Known allergy to penicillins or cephalosporins.
  • Severe liver dysfunction or jaundice associated with previous use of Amoxicillin-Clavulanic Acid.
